Frank Hagel Federal Building
Richmond, CA

Description Of Site

The Frank Hagel Federal Building houses the SSA offices in Richmond, CA. The site includes guard-controlled parking, multiple public entrances and an onsite Emergency Control Center.

SBD Involvement

Beginning in 2010, Security By Design participated in several projects for this building. The initial project was a site review and survey, performed as a sub-consultant to Abide International.

SBD’s scope included developing security objectives for the three main lobbies, the vehicle screening point, and the loading dock. SBD identified potential equipment and power requirements, and envisioned 3 different scenarios, with space requirements for achieving the objectives within the parameters identified. This survey led to the lobbies upgrade project.

Following the lobby designs, SBD was requested to provide designs through bid for an upgraded Emergency Control Center and improved security video system throughout the site. The construction was required to have no disruption of operations. This scope was completed as a sub-consultant to Interactive Resources.
